Add Google Maps Distance Calculation to your WordPress Form

Google has some really cool toys when it comes to extending functionality on your website or web application. The Google Maps family of APIs allows you to add really interesting and powerful functionality to your website. With the Piotnet Form Builder and the APIs available on the Google Cloud Platform, you can do some really powerful stuff. You’ll need a few things from the Google API toolkit, including the Maps, Places, and Distance matrix APIs.

In this video, I’ll show you how to build a very simple form on your website and by using some of the Google Maps APIs available on the Google Maps platform along with the Address autocomplete fields to turn your form into a basic fare calculator, or anything you can think of to apply this to, for that matter.

About me!

I am very passionate about Web Design and Education. When I started out more than a decade ago, I didn’t have nearly as many resources as available nowadays.

I feel that it is my obligation to put out great content and to share my experiences to help others master WordPress.

Every time you click on a link on this site that leads you to purchase any of the products we refer to in our articles or resources, I get paid a commission (at no additional cost to you!). This is what helps me to keep this resource alive. I appreciate your support!
